Traumatic Scar Restoration
At Chrysalis Skin & Scars, Traumatic Scar Restoration is a regenerative treatment approach designed to improve the structure, tone, and integration of scars resulting from accidental injury, lacerations, surgical repair of trauma, or other physical impact to the skin.
Unlike planned surgical incisions, traumatic wounds often heal under less controlled conditions. Irregular wound edges, variable depth of injury, tissue loss, and inflammatory response can result in uneven collagen deposition and unpredictable scar formation. This may present as depressed scars, raised or thickened tissue, pigment irregularities, or textural disruption that differs significantly from surrounding skin.
Our treatment strategy is grounded in the science of wound remodeling and dermal reorganization.
Using advanced laser therapy, collagen induction treatments, controlled energy-based modalities, and supportive lymphatic techniques, we stimulate fibroblast activity and encourage more organized collagen restructuring. By gently disrupting dense or irregular scar tissue, we guide the skin toward improved pliability, smoother texture, and more balanced tone over time.
Each case begins with a comprehensive evaluation of:
Type and depth of the original injury
Scar maturity and healing phase
Vascular presentation and pigment disruption
Tissue mobility and underlying adhesions
Individual healing tendencies
Timing is critical. Traumatic scars must be fully healed and medically stable before revision begins. In some cases, preparatory treatments are recommended to optimize tissue responsiveness and ensure safe progression.
Our approach is progressive and structured. Improvement occurs gradually as new collagen forms and reorganizes within the dermis. The objective is not to erase the past, but to soften contrast, restore integration, and improve the functional quality of the tissue.
This is not aggressive resurfacing.
It is biologically guided regeneration.
Traumatic scars often carry emotional weight alongside physical change. We approach every case with clinical precision and deep respect for the experience behind the scar. At Chrysalis, restoration is intentional, supporting both tissue health and renewed confidence through science-informed care.
