Scar & Skin Revision Stretch Mark Scar Treatment
At Chrysalis Skin & Scars, Stretch Mark Scar Treatment focuses on improving the structural integrity and appearance of striae through biologically guided dermal remodeling.
Stretch marks, medically known as striae distensae, form when the skin undergoes rapid expansion, and the dermal collagen network is unable to accommodate the tension. This mechanical stress causes fragmentation of collagen and elastin fibers within the dermis. Although the epidermis may remain intact, the underlying structural disruption results in visible linear depressions, textural thinning, and pigment irregularities.
Over time, stretch marks often transition from vascular (red or purple) to hypopigmented (lighter than surrounding skin). Despite this color change, the underlying collagen architecture remains altered.
Our treatment approach targets the dermal foundation.
Using advanced laser therapy, controlled collagen induction, and energy-based remodeling technologies, we stimulate fibroblast activity to encourage new collagen synthesis and gradual reorganization of existing scar tissue. By promoting structured dermal renewal, we aim to improve texture, enhance skin thickness, and support more uniform integration with surrounding tissue.
Each treatment plan is individualized based on:
Age and maturity of the stretch marks
Skin type and pigment response
Depth and density of dermal disruption
Overall tissue health and elasticity
Because collagen remodeling is a gradual biologic process, improvement occurs progressively over multiple sessions. The objective is not to eliminate stretch marks entirely which is rarely physiologically possible but to soften their appearance, improve skin quality, and reduce visible contrast.
In cases where pigment disparity remains after structural improvement, paramedical camouflage techniques may be incorporated as a secondary phase of treatment.
This is not surface smoothing.
It is controlled dermal regeneration.
Stretch marks often accompany significant life transitions pregnancy, growth, weight changes, hormonal shifts. Our goal is to support your skin in rebuilding strength and balance, using science-informed therapies that respect both tissue physiology and personal experience.
At Chrysalis, meaningful change begins beneath the surface, where the skin truly heals.
