Raised Scar Treatment

At Chrysalis Skin & Scars, Raised Scar Treatment focuses on improving the structure, tone, and pliability of hypertrophic scars and keloid-prone tissue through biologically guided remodeling.

Raised scars develop when the body produces excess collagen during the wound-healing process. Instead of reorganizing into balanced dermal architecture, collagen fibers accumulate densely and irregularly, resulting in thickened, firm, and sometimes symptomatic scar tissue. In some cases, this overproduction remains confined to the original wound margins (hypertrophic scars); in others, it may extend beyond them (keloids).

Our approach to raised scar treatment is grounded in the science of controlled collagen modulation.

Using advanced laser therapy, targeted energy-based devices, and tissue-conditioning techniques, we work to gently disrupt excessive collagen bundles and stimulate a more organized remodeling response. By improving vascular balance and encouraging structured dermal turnover, the skin is guided toward a flatter, softer, and more integrated appearance over time.

In cases where pigment irregularity accompanies elevation, we may incorporate pigment-focused laser therapy to reduce redness or discoloration. For scars that are rigid or restrictive, supportive therapies aimed at improving tissue mobility and circulation may also be recommended.

Each treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment of:

  • Scar maturity and age

  • Degree of elevation and density

  • Vascular activity

  • Symptom profile (itching, sensitivity, tightness)

  • Individual healing tendencies

Not all raised scars respond identically, and timing is critical. Some scars benefit from early intervention, while others require stabilization before treatment begins. Our protocols are individualized to ensure safe, gradual improvement rather than aggressive disruption.

This is not about flattening tissue forcefully.
It is about guiding collagen to reorganize more intelligently.

Raised scars often carry both physical and emotional discomfort. Our goal is to improve texture, reduce prominence, and restore tissue harmony in a way that respects the skin’s natural healing process.

At Chrysalis, scar revision is structured, progressive, and rooted in dermal science because meaningful improvement begins beneath the surface.

Expert led paramedical aesthetics focused on skin health, restoration, and long term results.
